Air- Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBIA) has daily flights to all major European destinations and onward connections worldwide. LBIA is located approximately 11 miles to the north west of Leeds, near Yeadon, Rawdon and Horsforth. By car expect your journey to and from the airport to take 30 minutes and longer in rush hour.
The MetroConnect Bus serves to and from Leeds. The MetroConnect 757 service links Otley, Leeds bus station and Leeds train station with LBIA. The service runs every thirty minutes daily from Monday to Saturday, while an hourly service operates during off-peak hours and all day on Sunday.
By Car- Leeds is located central to the British motorway network and has extensive connections in all directions. Linking Leeds to the north and south are the A1 and M1 and the M62 linking to the east and west. The Inner Ring Road in Leeds flows north, over Leeds city centre, and is use as a by-pass to the city centre. Follow the blue or green direction signs along the route. If you are going into the city. By train- Leeds main train station can be found in it City Square in the centre of Leeds. This busy station has over 900 trains in operation and 90,000 passengers passing through every day, making it the busiest station outside of London. National services are as follows:
GNER provide rail links to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Peterborough, Wakefield, Doncaster and London.
Virgin Cross Country trains run between Newcastle and Bristol Temple Meads via Birmingham New Street.
Transpennine serve Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, York, Newcastle, Middleborough, Scarborough, Hull, Huddersfield, and Warrington.
Northern Rail offers links Leeds with Doncaster, Sheffield, York, Harrogate, Pontefract, Carlisle, Morecambe and Manchester Victoria.
By bus- Leeds City Bus Station is located near Kirkgate Market, in the heart of the city centre. A FirstDay pass costs £3.30, or £2.30 after 9:30am for local services. Weekly passes are also available for £13. The bus driver can provide these tickets.
Buses travel both locally, regionally and countrywide. The National Express coach terminal, which serves long distance, can be found across from the bus station.
Bus services, are run by Arriva and First, throughout Leeds. The Metro travel centre in the bus stations will provide you with a route map to organize your journey. First buses run every day arriving every ten minutes or so, with reduced services on Sundays and Bank Holidays. The Freecitybus runs every few minutes from 6.30am to 7.30pm Mondays to Saturdays linking rail and bus stations, business and shopping districts.
Taxis are available from the front of the airport terminal and can either be booked in advance or flagged on arrival. Taxis are metered and regulated by Leeds City Council.
