West Yorkshire Playhouse- Opened in 1970, The West Yorkshire Playhouse came about after a campaign spearheaded by Thespians among those Peter O’Toole and Keith Waterhouse calling for Leeds to have a repertory theatre with its own company. Now the theatre resides at Quarry Hill end of the Headrow. The playhouse shows productions ranging from classical to modern, and the building comprises of the Quarry Theatre, The Courtyard Theatre, function rooms, a restaurant, a cafe, and bar.
Leeds City Art Gallery- Located on the Headrow, in the city centre you will find Leeds City Art Gallery and admission is free making it a great cultural cheap day out for the whole family. A Medley of traditional and contemporary paintings, sculpture, drawings and prints, can be seen here across from the Henry Moore Institute, the Craft and Design Centre and Leeds Central Library.
